This client had just purchased a 1 bedroom condo unit in Long Beach that had been previously owned by a person who smoked. The woman had just moved in but the previous owners had been there for 5 years and there were the stale odors of living with not enough ventilation and the aforementioned smoking. Even though the house had been cleaned, and the carpets shampooed before move-in, there was still a smell problem.
The bedroom was a problem area as it had carpeted floors that seemed to be retaining smells even after a thorough commercial cleaning. We set up our machines, one based in the problem bedroom, and the other in the kitchen/dining room combination area. We ran them for 24 hours, as is our usual approach.
We had them take out their air filter and had them run the air conditioning to make certain that the ducts and air conditioning system were treated as well. We also encouraged them to replace their air filter with the proper kins.
The end result was another satisfied customer.
