Newly purchased house in Irvine has cigarette smells in every room! We removed it!

This was a quite nice 3 bedroom apartment located in Santa Monica, California. In addition to having an issue with cigarette and cannabis smells, there was no bathroom ventilation fan in the bathroom which contributed to mold and mildew smell issues around the tub. We advised them to attack the mold around the tub with a spray bottle of Clorox bleach to begin the process of killing the mold, the source of the mildew smell. We told them that they need to scrub it or it comes back as well. Our ozone treatment does kill mold but it's not practical to use it all the time so ventilation and bleach should be the first lines of defense. This was a huge house, over 7,000 square feet, in North Tustin, CA. The issue was that these renters were moving into a home that had been previously inhabited by cigarette smokers. The renters had been living in it for a few days. The property had not been cleaned or treated the property sufficiently before the renters moved in and left it to the renters to fend for themselves. To make sure that we got the job done right we split the house into upper and lower floors and treated each separately, 3,500 square feet the first day, same amount the next day.
